Hi guys! So as you may or may not know, my boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. However that’s changing on the 15th of July, when he arrives in Australia to stay with me for a year (for now)! I’m so ridiculously excited, and this next two weeks is going to go so slow.
One of our favourite things to do together is play games – before we had even met in person we would spend hours playing Super Smash Bros over the internet, and we always had so much fun. As John is bringing his PS4 (yay) to Australia, I thought it would be fun to find and buy a couple of PS4 games for us to play together on there, and I wanted to share my choices with you! These won’t all be multiplayer, just games I think we’d both enjoy. Besides, I like watching other people play games almost as much as playing myself!
I thought sharing photos of the game case might be kind of boring, so I decided to show clips of the games instead – I hope you enjoy.
1. Little Big Planet 3
I’ve played the first Little Big Planet, and I loved it. Cute characters, a unique kind of gameplay, and I loved dressing up my little guy in the outfits you can collect, and sticking ridiculously large stickers on the other player. I definitely want to try number 3 and this will probably be my first purchase for us to play!
2. Octodad: Dadliest Catch
If you haven’t heard of Octodad before, basically it’s an octopus wearing a suit that has somehow managed to convince his (clearly not very bright) wife and children and strangers on the street that he is, in fact, a human like the rest of them, despite his tentacles and lack of talking. I’ve played this before on my laptop, but it was excruciatingly difficult with the trackpad so I’m really excited to give this another go on the PS4. It’s fun to play and also downright hilarious.
3. Lego: The Hobbit
The Hobbit movies are some of my favourites. As much as I love The Lord of the Rings movies, I love The Hobbit ones more – though that’s probably more to do with the quality of the movies and not the stories themselves. I also am a huge Lego fanatic – real life and the games! So this is basically an unbeatable combination for me, and I can’t wait to force John to play with me.
4. The Last of Us
This is actually my favourite game. The graphics are amazing, and the storyline is beautiful. I get so ridiculously emotionally attached to the characters every time I play this or watch walkthroughs of it (I’m usually too scared to play this by myself – shhh – but I love watching other people play it, or I watch the full gameplay & cutscenes without commentary on YouTube instead) I cry. It sounds silly, but when you play it, you’ll understand. However, I only played this on PS3 – they released a remastered version for the Ps4 along with another small DLC which I definitely want to play – but I mainly want to make John play this so I can watch!
5. Dark Souls III
I’ll be honest: even though horror movies never scare me (except for the occasional jump scene), games do. But this game looks so freaking awesome I still want to try it. Besides, I can always force somebody to play instead so I can watch!
Let me know if you’ve played any of these games and what you thought!
What’s your favourite game at the moment?
