Everybody close to me knows about my obsession for novelty mugs. My favourite kind are the Christmas ones – you know, the ones in the shape of santa clause or a cute little penguin. However, I try and save them for when it’s actually December… though I will admit I’ve used my little penguin one with a removable santa hat several times this week.
My favourite novelty mug I ever owned was the cutest little mushroom-shape, with the head of the mushroom being a removable lid. It was the most perfect shape, size, and it was adorable. I honestly have no idea what happened to it – which is what started my search on amazon today, and what also inspired this Weekly Wishlist.
(Please note: this post contains affiliate links! This just means if you purchase something off this list – which you are under no obligation or expectation to do – I earn a small commission. However, also note that I will only ever post anything that I am genuinely interested in and I’ll always be honest with you guys!)
I know this mug looks somewhat difficult to drink from, but it’s hilarious. I’ve always wondered how I can show my true appreciation for Homer Simpson, but since I’m not a sprinkle-donut kind of gal, this mug is definitely the next best thing.
(Honestly, if anybody owns this, please let me know the scale of drinking difficulty from 1-10, 1 being it’s the same as every other mug and 10 being OH GOD IT’S ALL OVER MY SHIRT AND IT BURNS.
P.S there’s also a similar one in pink which is super cute, I just personally prefer the brown!
I’m going to be very, very honest with you… I could have easily made this post purely about cat-shaped mugs (I accidentally just wrote mug-shaped cats… now that would be interesting.) However, I told myself only one mug could be cat-related… so I cheated and chose this one that comes with two. Winning against myself, yesss!
These look so comfortable to hold, and are just downright purrfect.
I’ll admit, I found these cheeky little marshmallows after searching for Christmas mugs… I just couldn’t help myself. However, in my defence, the best place to put marshmallows is a hot drink, right? And hot drinks are best in Winter? And as Winter falls in June/July/August here in Australia, technically, technically, these shouldn’t count as Christmas mugs for me… Right?
Anyway, I don’t know why I’m trying to make excuses. These mugs are damn cute and I’m not going to sit here and feel guilty for including “Christmas mugs” even though I said I wouldn’t.
(But really, aren’t they so sweet?)
Okay, this is too much. HOW. FREAKING. CUTE.
I’ve always loved Lilo and Stitch, and this mug actually sends me into spasms of delight. I’m counting down the hours until I get paid so I can buy this (if it sells out within 2 days I’m gonna be upset!)
If you haven’t watched Adventure Time before, I definitely recommend it. It’s weird, but it’s great. John was the one who first introduced me to it, and we actually have matching Adventure Time mugs already (his is Gunter, mine is Ice King) but I thought it would be cute to get another pair – as there is also a Finn mug available.
I actually have a similar mug in the exact same shape – this Hello Kitty one – and it’s one of my favourites. It’s super comfortable in your hand, and fits so. much. coffee.
John and I just recently watched the whole of season one Pokemon on netflix (WHYYY don’t they have the other seasons?!) and we’re pretty confident that our Pokemon Master skills would far outshine Ash and the rest. Basically, we need this mug to remind ourselves of that.
All in all, I didn’t find an adequate replacement for my mushroom mug, but I did find these other awesome ones – which I hope you like as much as me!
Do you have a weird obsession with novelty mugs as well?
