WEEKEND NOTES

20/1/2018

Hello everybody! I hope you’re all doing well. I wanted to sit down and write out a quick little blog post for you – about nothing in particular. So I thought I’d start this Weekend Notes series, as a chance for me to sit down and update you on what’s been going on, any thoughts I’m having, and what I’ve been enjoying on the internet. I thought it might give a more personal touch to my blog, as well as letting you get to know me a little better. It won’t be every weekend (though it may end up being so), just whenever I feel like I have some time to sit down and chat.

I just got back from Canada last Sunday, and had to go back into work the next day. Jet lag had been kicking my ass this week, but I think I’m finally caught up on sleep and feeling well adjusted. Can anybody else not sleep on the plane? I can get maybe a total of 3 hours (out of a 30 hour journey) if I’m lucky enough to get the window seat – otherwise, there’s no chance. I’m missing my partner terribly, however – but at the same time, it’s motivating me to get my butt into gear and work harder than I ever have before, so I can eventually afford to move across the world… Canada, I’m coming for you!

Since arriving back in Australia, I’ve been working on a couple of things – most of them have to stay a secret for now, but I thought I’d let you guys know about one of them: ThosePunnyCards. Now, I’ve never thought of myself as even being close to being an artist – in fact, I’m mediocre at best at drawing. However, I’ve been playing around with Adobe Illustrator, and started making these fun little cards. I love puns, and it’s one of the silly things John and I have in common. When we first started talking, we’d send each other dumb, cutesy puns all day. I decided to pop them up on Etsy, and I’m keen to continuously expand the selection – I actually have a list of over 400 puns written down to turn into cards! I would love it if you could check them out and let me know what you think.

That’s it for now, let me know in the comments how your week has been! I love hearing from you. In the meantime, here are some links I’ve been enjoying this week!

I love this idea of just a note on what is going on. I can’t believe you went back to work the day after such long trip. I just got back from Iceland and England and I still am feeling it.

It definitely wasn’t my brightest idea – I felt dizzy and overtired for the first few days! But my logic was, I wanted to spend as long as I could in Canada, rather than putting days towards getting over my jet lag.

The punny cards are super cute! I like the “tortellini in love with you” and “you are a peach of sh#t.” Soooooo adorable and funny!

Ooooh….I can totally see why you were jet lagged. That’s a looooong flight!

Oh thank you so much! :) The tortellini one is my favourite, too.

I can never sleep on the plane, and always end up staying up watching movies (and then have the worst jetlag when I arrive, booo)!! But dang, how insanely long was that flight?!?

I’ve watched Ant Man on 4 different planes in the past 2 years just because there’s nothing… else… (and tbh it’s a great movie). It was a 14 hour flight, 6 hour stop over and another 10 hour flight! The absolute worst.
