THE CHRISTMAS TAG
Hello everyone! I hope the holiday season is treating you well so far. I’m absolutely loving it, but I can’t wait to be in Canada so I can experience another white christmas! It’s just a little too hot in Australia to feel as festive as I would in the snow, though I’m still enjoying every minute of it.
I recently stumbled across a Christmas tag, and knew I had to do it! I also wanted to share a snippet of my home with you, so I’ve decided to combine the two. The pictures in this post are a few bits of holiday decor scattered around my home. I’d love to see yours, too!
- What is your favourite Christmas film?
Sooo hard to say! I would say it’s a toss up between The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Grinch! Ooh, and Home Alone! It’s way too hard to choose just one.
- Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Oops. I guess I kind of ruined this with the intro to this post… but, yes, I have! Once, in 2015 when I first went to Canada. This year will be my second one!
- Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Usually at work/home, but for Christmas day it alternates between my mum’s house or one of my aunties’ houses.
- What is your favourite Christmas song?
This is even harder than the movie question. I honestly don’t know how to choose. I love Santa Baby, It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas, All I Want For Christmas Is You… nope, there’s no point in me even trying to choose one or list my favourites – it would take all day!
- Do you open any presents on Christmas eve?
Not anymore, but my sisters and I used to open one each on Christmas eve when we were kids – just couldn’t wait the half day more!
- Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Oh god – really putting me on the spot here. Dasher, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Rudolph, Dancer, Blitzen… is that it? I feel like 7 reindeers sounds right and I can’t for the life of me think of any more… *Googles*. Aw, I forgot Cupid and Donner. I feel like I’ve never heard of a reindeer called Donner in my life. Where did he come from?!
- What Christmas traditions are you looking forward most to this year?
I think my favourite tradition is spending New Years Eve driving around and looking at Christmas lights. My sisters and I used to do this with my dad before he passed away, and it’s one of my fondest memories, and I still do it every year with friends or my partner.
- Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Fake – I’ve only ever had fake ones. I’ve always loved the idea of going to a cute Christmas tree farm and picking out a real one and taking it home, but it’s not really a thing here in Australia. I mean, there are Christmas tree farms, but they’re boring and nothing like the ones you see in UK and America!
- What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweat treat?
I don’t know if it counts, but eggnog! I absolutely love it, and it always makes me feel so Christmassy and happy! But, if we’re not including drinks, then I would probably say mince pies because they are delicious. Though I have to admit I’m just a little bit weird, and actually enjoy them more when they’re frozen, straight out of the freezer. Yum. Let me know if that’s the way you like them, too!
- Be honest: Do you like giving or receiving gifts more?
100% honesty here – giving! I get sooo excited when choosing gifts for people, especially if I think I’ve nailed it, haha. I love watching people open them to see their face.
- What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
I honestly don’t know – I’ve loved every single thing I’ve ever gotten. I do remember getting a Furby as a kid, that was probably the most exciting thing ever for me back then, haha. Kind of find them creepy now. Mine was named “Da-looooo-lah”.
- What would your dream place to visit for the holiday season be?
Edinburgh! From all the Christmas vlogs & blog posts I’ve seen, Edinburgh looks absolutely incredible at Christmas time – especially the markets! It’s my #1 place I want to visit, and I’m hoping I can be there for Christmas 2018.
- Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I fail miserably, sadly. One time I thought it would be cute to wrap gifts in white tissue paper… my friend Justin told me it looked like fish & chips, and ended up wrapping them for me. Sigh.
- Most memorable holiday moment?
Probably my first White Christmas in 2015! I just looove the snow.
- What made you realise the truth about Santa?
… What truth?
- Favourite Christmas scent?
Basically any Christmas Yankee Candle… Yum! I’ve got quite a few and they all smell ahmaaazing.
- What makes the holidays special for you?
Basically, the lead up to Christmas is my favourite time of the year. It really brings a different atmosphere unlike any other month, and it makes me so happy and festive.
That’s The Christmas Tag over & done! I would love it if you also did this tag, and leave a link in the comments so I can pop on over and read yours!
