It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday!
To celebrate all the hard work I haven’t done this week, my friend and I decided to head down to Hawthorn to eat enough sushi to feed a small army. We parked, and headed down the street to Samurai Sushi, casually flinging insults at each other like only good friends do.
Now, I feel the need to warn you to stop reading if you’re hungry – unless you have an aversion to sushi in which case, carry on (and also, what’s wrong with you?). We decided to get a couple of things and share.
Unagi Nigiri – which, in case you don’t know, is eel and it is delicious. The pieces that are still in the shape of the tail kind of freak me out, because no food should still look like the animal it came from (seriously, it’s so off-putting) but it’s worth it.
Chicken & Cucumber roll – I didn’t have any of this because I’m not a fan of chicken in sushi, but my friend gets this every time we go so I assume it’s pretty good!
Kaki Fry – deep fried crumbed oyster. Again, delicious.
Samurai Noodle Soup – egg noodle soup with fried chicken. We each got a bowl of this, not expecting it to be so huge. We ended up having to get half of everything as takeaway (and now I have something to look forward to for lunch tomorrow!) but no regrets.
Honestly, if you live in Melbourne and you’re a fan of sushi, you need to check this place out. Now I’m in a food coma and need to go to sleep, so I’m going to end this here! Sorry if I made you guys hungry. Heheh.
