If you saw my Gaming Setups post, you’ve probably realised that I’m a bit of a computer-nerd. Looking through gaming setups to post here inspired me to design my own. I found an online program called roomsketcher that helped me with this progress, and I’ve decided to show you guys!
Bear in mind that I know this setup is ridiculous, and would be expensive, and this was merely just for fun and not anything I’m actually anticipating doing any time soon!
I actually did a rough sketch on paper before starting this. Originally it was just one corner of a room, but then I decided to mirror the original idea so there were two setups next to each other (for my boyfriend and I in this make-believe dream come true).
Bird’s eye view. Firstly, check out that dog. I just put that in because I thought it was funny that it was an option, and I’m obviously going to have a dog. There’s a little cat on the desk, too.
A lot of things weren’t available for me to use in this sketch (ie: headphone rack, speakers, portable hard drives, usb hubs etc.) so I used other things as place-keepers. (For example, the massive guitar amps were meant to be speakers. Whoops.)
The guitar amp “speakers” look hilariously bad especially from this angle, but hey – what can you do? (The answer is find something better to use than guitar amps.)
That crazy looking frame was meant to be a television, by the way. And the bulky phones from apparently a hundred years ago are to represent our mobile/cell phones.
Close up of kitty/ridiculous guitar amps/century old phone.
Window view (this will obviously be my side.)
I know this post is a bit silly, but it was fun to do and killed some time at work. And hey, if I ever get adopted by a billionaire, this might be how I design a room.
Have you ever used roomsketcher, or anything like it? Let me know if you’ve ever designed a room just for fun, or actually went ahead and did it! I’d love to see pictures, too!
