Today I got into a random cooking mood, which I’ll admit doesn’t happen very often – but since I’ve had seafood on the brain these last few days, I decided to make crab cakes. They’re so simple, tasty, and ridiculously quick to make! I thought I’d share the recipe with you guys, let me know what you think!
It’s really simple: basically, all you do is combine all the ingredients, make the mixture into patties, and fry them!
These are the size of my patties, and I made 12 of them. (FYI: I ate 3 and feel so full – and satisfied!)
Quick, simple, and delicious.
Break up the crab meat into smaller pieces, and so it's in strips rather than in chunks, and place into a large mixing bowl.
Add the other ingredients (apart from the vegetable oil) into the bowl in any order, and, using your hands, combine them together well.
Form the mixture into patties. I made 12, but obviously the amount depends on how big or small you want to make them.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large frypan or a skillet over medium-high heat.
Wait for the oil to get hot, and then place the patties in (I cooked 4 at a time.)
Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden-brown.
When both sides are cooked, place the patties on paper towel to absorb the oil, then serve.
I served these with sweet chilli mayo (mayonnaise, sweet chilli sauce & a squeeze of lemon) which tasted better than I expected. However you could use whatever you wanted: tartare sauce, cocktail sauce, etc.
And that’s it! Now I’m going to let my pending food-coma take it’s toll on me, and I’ll see you on my next post!
