Christmas Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Christmas Chocolate Covered Pretzels || hellomoonies

Do you have something cooking-wise you feel like you’re really bad at? For some reason, I can never work icing. I know that sounds ridiculous, because it’s sooo easy, but it just never does what I want it to do – or maybe that’s my total lack of artistic ability! Anyway, in spite of that, I decided to make these (cute?) Christmas Chocolate Covered Pretzels, and trust me: they’re aΒ lot tastier than they look! (I’m actually a little embarrassed to be putting these up, but hey – I think it’s important for people to see the imperfections of recipes as well!)

See what I mean? They kind of look like they’re screaming for help.

Regardless of how they look, the sweetness of the white chocolate mixed with the saltiness of the pretzels is such a winning combination – these were demolished pretty quickly at home! The good news is, they’reΒ so easy to make, you could make a whole batch to last for days.

Now, I haven’t included quantities in the ingredients, because it’s basically whatever you want to make! I used about half a packet of pretzels with one packet of white chocolate melts, and just eyeballed the icing sugar. I have faith in you, you’ll figure it out ;)

(And as a side note, next time I’m making at least triple times the amount.)

Instructions
  1. Put chocolate melts in a microwavable bowl, and drizzle the olive oil over the top & mix.
  2. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then in 30 second intervals until the chocolate has fully melted.
  3. Dip pretzels into the melted chocolate - I used one fork to push the pretzel under, and another fork underneath to lift it back up.
  4. Lay pretzels on baking paper to harden.
  5. While the pretzels are hardening, make your icing sugar, and seperate it - to however many colours you want to use. Add the food dye and stir.
  6. Once the pretzels have hardened, drizzle the coloured icing sugar over the pretzels any way you like - I just used a fork and kind of let it drip in lines.
  7. Allow icing sugar to dry, & enjoy!
