BECCA X JACLYN HILL CHAMPAGNE COLLECTION FACE PALETTE
It’s been a while since I splurged on makeup – apart from the necessities like foundation and mascara, which I usually get from my local chemist (drugstore).
In fact, I haven’t splurged on makeup in so long that I’ve been using a sparkly white-gold eyeshadow as a highlighter. Between you and me, it hasn’t really been working, and I desperately longed for a decent, high-end highlighter that would make my cheeks pop.
I started looking for a new one, but didn’t have much past experience in the cheek-popping department: my last high-end highlighter was the Chanel Poudree Signée de Chanel, which I loved, but I wanted something a little less subtle.
So when I stumbled upon the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette, I knew I had to have it. I quickly created an account on my Sephora app (nice knowing you, bank account), popped it into my cart, and just a few days later it was mine!
From the second it arrived, I was in love. Sometimes you see expensive products where the actual makeup is amazing, but the packaging is subpar, which completely throws me off: this is definitely not the case for the Champagne Collection Face Palette. The white case with gold detailing is oh-so-pretty, and seems sturdy enough that you don’t have to worry about it breaking, or a hinge coming loose.
The BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette contains two different highlighters, Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop. I had heard a lot of great things about Champagne Pop, and I was not disappointed – and thrilled to be able to mix it up with the choice of two different highlighters.
Champagne Pop definitely suits my skin tone more, but I’m really excited to try Prosecco Pop the next time I’ve been in the sun (or rather, after I get a fake tan – way more likely!)
The palette also comes with 3 gorgeous blushes: Amaretto, Pamplemousse (both mineral), and Rosé Spritz (luminous). Rosé Spritz was my immediate favourite, and it’s not hard to see why! It’s a perfect shade of pink with lovely gold flecks throughout it, without being too overwhelming. That said, the others are beautiful too, and I can definitely picture myself wearing all 3 of them!
It’s not often that you get a palette where you love every shade, but these are all truly gorgeous, and I wouldn’t change any of them. (Now, if someone can create an eyeshadow palette that I could say this about, I’d be very impressed!)
Speaking of eyeshadow, I blended Amaretto & Prosecco Pop on my lids when J & I went out to dinner on the day that I took these pictures, and I loved it! If you have this palette, give it a go and let me know what you think!
If you don’t have the palette already, you can get it (affiliate link incoming!) here – remember, it’s limited edition!
from left to right:
Champagne Pop is the reason I bought this palette. It’s one of the most gorgeous highlighters I’ve seen, and I’ve been lusting after it for a very long time. It’s the perfect shade for my skin tone, and gives off just the right amount of sparkle.
I had quite a heavy hand when swatching this, as you can see from the picture – but I wanted you to be able to see how bloody gorgeous it is. It’s such a perfect cherry pink with a tiny hint of coral, and when used sparingly, Pamplemousse is absolutely delicious.
As I said before, this blush doubles as an eyeshadow (at least in my books!) and it’s a gorgeous shade no matter where you put it. I generally do prefer more red/pinky blushes, but Amaretto is an exception: it’s super pretty with a slight shimmer effect: the pictures just don’t do it justice.
My favourite blush of the collection… and possibly my new favourite blush out of my whole collection – time will tell, but it’s looking like a strong contender so far! Rosé Spritz is a gorgeous sparkly pink with touches of gold, and it gives my cheeks a lovely colour without needing to apply a lot of it.
Although Champagne Pop suits my skin tone better, I still adore Prosecco Pop. There’s no denying it’s a lovely shade, however I just think it would look better on me if I had a tan. Though, like I said earlier, it did work beautifully as an eyeshadow!
Have you tried the BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette? If not, do you want to now after seeing the beautiful shades included? Which is your favourite? I think it’s pretty obvious that I love them all, but Champagne Pop is my #1!
