5 Favourites: yankee candles

Have I told you guys about my obsession with candles before? I honestly can’t remember. I have a ridiculous amount – as in, I probably won’t ever end up burning through all of these without being able to resist the urge of buying more. It’s just a never ending supply of candles that only grows bigger.

For today’s edition of 5 Favourites, I decided to feature only Yankee Candles. While they are my favourite brand of candles, the reason I decided to choose solely Yankee Candles was just to narrow down my choices – it would have been ridiculously difficult, otherwise… even now, I had trouble deciding between a few.

However, I managed, so here they are:

Mango Peach Salsa was the first Yankee Candle I ever bought. I had seen them on some beauty guru’s youtube videos, in their room tours or hauls, and I was so disappointed I couldn’t seem to find anywhere to buy them in Australia, without paying a ridiculous amount to have them shipped. Then one day, I was in a random storage store looking for makeup containers, when I stumbled across a small selection of Yankee Candles for sale! How could I resist? I only bought this one that first time, but I went back there every so often to see if they had new stock.

Also, this scent is deliciously juicy, fruity, and it’s still one of my favourites even though I’ve bought & smelled so many since then.

This is actually my second jar of Kiwi Berries – I’d like to say I burnt through all of the last one, but sadly (and stupidly) enough, I actually lost it. I have no idea how somebody misplaces a candle, but if anybody could do it, it would be me. This is my #1 favourite Yankee Candle, so of course, I had to buy a replacement. The scent is amazing. Honestly, if I could only recommend one Yankee Candle for you to smell, it would be this one (if you like fruity, sweet scents!)

Cherry Blossom was another one of the first one’s I bought – however, as I only had the little one on the right, I never lit it because I loved the smell so much I didn’t want to use it and have it all be gone eventually (that made complete sense in my head). So I bought the next size up so I could use it freely without worrying about no longer having access to the beautiful smell that belongs to this candle. Honestly, I didn’t think I was into flower scents before I came across this – soft, delicate, and sweet.

Beach Garden is probably my most used Yankee Candle. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to use it lately – for some reason, when it’s lit it leaves black ash all over the inside, and is giving out quite a smoky smell, and I’m unable to figure out how to fix it – if you have any idea, please let me know, because I truly love this scent a lot and as it’s limited edition, I worry about being able to replace it. This scent smells like a mixture between fruit and floral, and the combination is incredible.

Unlike the last four favourites, this candle is neither floral or fruit scented. Instead, it’s food. Super Sweet Pumpkin is a scent I adore. I love lighting this candle on a cold, rainy day, and having the comforting, warm smell fill my house. Pumpkin-flavoured food/drinks isn’t really a thing in Australia, so I’ve had to resort to making my own pumpkin spiced lattes (honestly, I know people make fun of people who drink them sometimes, but they’re amazing) and the smell of anything pumpkin flavoured is just a delight, and this candle is no different.

What are your favourite Yankee Candle scents? Feel free to give me recommendations on any you think I’ll like!

Mmm. You’ve got me curious about the rest of your candle collection. Perhaps we could get a post on that, or even a video? xo Nat

A video is an interesting idea! I’m kind of camera shy and hate hearing my own voice on recordings but I’ll definitely consider it!

Oh my gosh I’m so jealous. I only ever see them at Spotlight for like $30 a jar here in SA. I’m going to have a better look around because I want fruity goodness! 😍

Kiwi & mango are my favorites too, or any exotic fruit. Mom and I would walk to the Yaknee Candle all the time loved it. Apple cinnamon is her ❤. Have u tried that one?
